Update: Police Search for Four Involved in Early Morning Assault, Attempted Robbery
A Hampstead man was injured in his home after four men attempted to rob him, police said.

Early Friday morning a Hampstead man was injured at his home whenΒ four male suspects attempted to rob him, police said.
Police said the victimΒ arrived at his home in the 1500 Block of Main Street just afterΒ 2 a.m.Β Stopped along Main Street a short distance away, he observed three of the persons of interest standing around what appeared to be a 1990βs model red four door station wagon, similar to a Ford Escort, according to police reports.Β
Shortly after arriving at hisΒ apartment, the victimΒ told police he heard knocking at the rear door of his home.Β Suspicious, he left the apartment from the front to investigate and was confronted by the males while making his way around back, police said. Β One of the suspects was carrying a gun and demanded money from the victim, police said.Β
The victim quickly recognized the gunΒ was a pellet pistol and knocked it from the suspectβs hand, police said.Β A brief struggle ensued during which the man told police he was knocked to the ground, kicked and punched by the four men before escaping to his apartment and calling for police.Β Β
The victim sustained minor cuts to his face and hands, but declined medical treatment, police said.Β
The suspects fled on foot and remain at large.Β They are all four described as being white or Latino males believed to be in their 20βs or 30βs, police said.Β One of them was further described as being of Latino decent, approximately five feet, eight inchesΒ tall with a stocky build, wearing a white tank style t-shirt and tattoo sleeves on both arms.Β The man with the pellet gun was reported to be thinly built and slightly taller than the first, police said.Β There is no further description for the others.
The vehicle described in this incident is similar to the description provided by witnesses to a confrontation that was reported at theΒ Manchester Park and Ride along Route 27 just beforeΒ 10 p.m. Thursday, police said. Β
