12 Displaced By Thanksgiving Night Fire In Wheaton/Glenmont Area
Although a fire at a single-family home in the Wheaton/Glenmont area displaced 12 people, no injuries were reported, according to MCFRS.

WHEATON/GLENMONT, MD — Twelve people were displaced and a person-of-interest was detained by police after a fire ripped through a single-family home in the Wheaton/Glenmont area late Thursday night.
Units from the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service were dispatched around 10 p.m., for the report of a house on fire in the 2800 block of Kingswell Drive off of Judson Road.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed flames coming from the sunroom and the first floor of the home. The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported.

Montgomery County Police detained a person of interest in connection with the fire, according to an MCFRS release. No other information was available.

The 12 occupants of the home were able to escape prior to the arrival of fire personnel. The Red Cross was assisting and tending to the 12 displaced people, according to MCFRS.

The Thanksgiving night fire brought MCFRS personnel and units to the scene from Stations 18 and R2 in Wheaton; Stations 3 and 21 in Rockville; Station 5 in Kensington; Stations 12, 16 and 24 in Silver Spring; and Station 4 in Sandy Spring.
