Driver Located After Fatal Hit-And-Run In Wheaton
A 52-year-old New Carrollton woman was killed in the Sept. 23 collision, according to Montgomery County police.
WHEATON, MD — Montgomery County police have located the car and driver involved in last week's fatal hit-and-run crash in Wheaton.
Police said the collision occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 23 in the area of eastbound Veirs Mill Road at Ennalls Avenue in Wheaton.
Police officers and fire and rescue personnel responded to the location after receiving a call about a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

Responders found 52-year-old Ganga Prajapati of New Carrollton in the roadway with critical injuries. She was taken to an area hospital, where she later died of her injuries.
Investigators later learned Prajapati was struck by an eastbound vehicle, which left the scene following the crash.

On Friday afternoon, investigators with the Collision Reconstruction Unit located the driver and the vehicle, a silver 2012 Audi A4, in Laurel. Police said charges are pending against the driver, who was not identified.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
