Dumpling Dojo Debuts At Montgomery Mall

The dumpling shop is headed up by Jeffrey Yu, the son of the owner of Wheaton dim sum destination , The Washington Post reported. News of the opening was first reported by Bethesda blogger Robert Dyer.

The eatery provides dumpling options for vegetarians and carnivores alike, with fillings including spicy shrimp, pork, turkey and spinach, beef and snow pea leaves, and edamame and vegetables.

The traditional Asian treats will run you $5 for six or $8 for 12.

Dumpling Dojo also serves up rice bowls for $6, with beef, lemon grass chicken or portobello.

If you're feeling adventurous, try a "Baowich" -- like a taco, but with an outer layer whipped up from wheat flour. The "Baowich" is served with beef or chicken filling and seaweed salad, cucumber, carrots and cilantro on top. They're $3 each.

Traditional Bao, or steamed buns, are available as well. For dessert, check out mocchi ice cream in green tea, guava, lychee or pistachio.
