Gaithersburg Woman Charged With Stabbing Outside Wheaton Station

WHEATON, MD — Authorities have arrested a 22-year-old woman they say stabbed a man outside the Wheaton Metro station earlier this month.

Nelly Lovette Moore, of Gaithersburg, has been charged with multiple counts of assault and is scheduled to appear before a judge in Rockville Wednesday morning, court records reveal.

The adult male victim was stabbed in the leg around 7 p.m. on Nov. 1 outside the Wheaton Metro station, located at 11171 Georgia Ave. Montgomery County police said they do not believe Moore knew the victim.

The unidentified man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

A witness to the stabbing provided officers with a description of the female suspect. Moore was arrested following a brief foot pursuit, according to police.

An investigation determined that Moore had an altercation with the victim before she stabbed him.

Moore was transported to the Central Processing Unit in Rockville and is being held on a $5,000 bond.
