MS-13 Gang Members Charged In Wheaton Park Murder

Police have arrested two more suspects in the murder​ of a man whose body was found in Wheaton Regional Park.

WHEATON, MD — Police have arrested two more suspects with MS-13 gang ties in the stabbing death of a man whose body was found in Wheaton Regional Park Sept. 5.

Police originally charged Miguel Angel Lopez-Abrego, 19, of an unconfirmed address, with first-degree murder on Nov. 11. Two additional suspects were charged with first-degree murder on Nov. 30: Doris Esmeralda Giron-Jiminez, 24, of Dalewood Drive in Wheaton and Albaro Armando Rosa-Moreno, 22, of an unconfirmed address.

The unknown victim's body was found in a grave in Wheaton Regional Park Sept. 5; detectives are still working to confirm the victim's identity. There was trauma to the body and the Medical Examiner's office in Baltimore has ruled the manner of death a homicide by sharp force injuries. Police said the victim was stabbed over 100 times.

Detectives think the victim may have been killed between December 2016 and March 2017.

During the investigation, detectives received information that this murder was committed by MS-13 members Lopez-Abrego and Rosa-Moreno, police said. Detectives believe Giron-Jiminez was an accomplice.

ABC7 News reports the victim was decapitated and had his heart removed from his body.

Detectives currently believe the victim was a Hispanic male who was about 5'2″ tall and weighed about 126 pounds. He had short, dark-brown hair and a missing lower tooth that may have been evident when he spoke or smiled.

The victim might have been from Annapolis, police said. He was wearing a men's gray sweatshirt, size large, with the words "First United Methodist Church Laurel" on the left chest.

Lopez-Abrego was located by law enforcement in North Carolina Nov. 11.
