Police Blotter: Sept. 26 to Oct. 5

Attempted robbery on University Boulevard after the victim's car broke down.

Yesterday, the Montgomery County Police released the latest crime statistics for the Fourth District, from September 26 through October 5. Please note that this is not a comprehensive listing, but rather a selection chosen for proximity to Wheaton.

Robbery

  • On October 4 at 9:26 p.m., an armed robbery occurred at Georgia Avenue and May Street. The victim’s property was taken, and the victim was threatened with a weapon. Suspects: two Hispanic males, each 18-24, about 5’7”.
  • A purse snatching occurred at Taber Street and Bucknell Drive on October 3 at 4:39 p.m. Arrested: male, 15, from Silver Spring; male, 14, from Derwood.
  • An armed robbery/aggravated assault occurred on the property of Harmony Hills Elementary School in Aspen Hill on October 3 at 10:20 p.m. Suspects: multiple males and a female. Arrested: male, 20, from Rockville.
  • On September 30 around 9 p.m., the suspects in an attempted strong-arm robbery assaulted the victim, who was walking eastward after his car had broken down, on University Boulevard near Reedie Drive. The suspects fled without taking anything. Suspects: two males, 16-17.


Residential Burglary

  • On September 27, there was a burglary in the 3400 block of Embry Street, Silver Spring. Arrested: male, 29.
