Surveillance Video Of Armed Robbery Suspects Released By MoCo Police

Montgomery County police released surveillance video as part of their investigation into an armed robbery at Westfield Wheaton Mall.

WHEATON, MD — The Montgomery County Police Department released surveillance video on Friday as part of its investigation into an armed robbery at the Westfield Wheaton Mall.

Around 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23, police went to the mall in response to a report of an armed robbery. Police determined that the male victim bought something at the mall and was leaving when two suspects approached him.

One of the suspects assaulted him, and the other suspect displayed a handgun and robbed him. The suspects then left the scene, police said.

Police said the department’s detectives reviewed the surveillance cameras of the mall and obtained a description of the suspects.

One of the suspects is described as a Hispanic male who is about 5-feet, 8-inches tall with short hair and a medium build. He was last seen wearing glasses, a long gray sleeve shirt, black Adidas pants and black shoes, police said.

The other suspect is described as a Hispanic male who is 5-feet, 8-inches tall with dark hair, a mustache and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, black pants, dark shoes and dark hair, according to police.
