The Wheaton Five: Nov. 1

Start the month of November with important information about the weather, a redevelopment hearing, a town meeting and Patch's newest parent columnist.

1. Did it really snow on Saturday? You wouldn’t know it with all the sunshine we’ll be getting the next three days. Look for temperatures today in the upper 50s, but dropping in the evening to the high 30s.

2. Tonight the Montgomery County Council will hold a hearing about whether big-box stores should be required to produce community benefits agreements before moving forward with development.

  • Where: Third Floor Council Hearing Room of the Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Ave. in Rockville.
  • When: 7:30 p.m.
  • For those unable to go to the hearing: The broadcast will be televised live by County Cable Montgomery (CCM—Cable Channel 6 on Comcast and RCN, Channel 30 on Verizon) and also will be available via streaming through the county website at www.montgomerycountymd.gov. It will be rebroadcast on November 4, starting at 9 p.m.
