13 Injured, 7 Hospitalized After Truck Crashed Into Devens Building: Reports

DEVENS, MA — A truck crashed into the lobby of a building, injuring 13, seven of whom were hospitalized, numerous media outlets reported.

"Thirteen people, including the driver, were hurt when a truck smashed into a building at the Shriver Job Corps campus in Devens, Massachusetts, on Monday, fire officials said," NBC 10 reported.

Of those 13, seven were hospitalized, according to Boston.com.

"Five people were transported by ambulance and two were taken in a 'private vehicle' to local hospitals, according to Fire Chief Timothy Kelly," the Boston.com story said. "Six others were treated on scene."

One Job Corps student described the violence of the crash to Boston 25 News.

"'I honestly thought at first it was an earthquake at first because obviously everything was shaking,' said Marcus Carter, a student at Job Corps," Boston 25 reported.

The crash was under investigation, according to WCVB 5.

"From Sky 5, a truck with a red box on the back could be seen partially inside the lobby of a building at the facility," WCVB 5 said. "The building had to be shored up before the driver and the truck were removed."
