MASSACHUSETTS — It is shaping up to be another wintry week across Massachusetts with multiple chances of snow, ice and a messy mix of precipitation in the forecast over the next seven days.

Some areas of the state got more than 8 inches of snow late Saturday night and early Sunday morning with widespread totals of 5+ inches across Massachusetts. While the next storm late Tuesday into Wednesday appears to be a miss to the south, additional rounds of snow and ice are on the way late Wednesday night into Thursday, and possibly Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday and Tuesday will be cold and calm throughout the region with light winds, sunshine and highs near freezing.

A storm Tuesday night into Wednesday appears to be a near miss to the south with some areas of Rhode Island and the South Coast getting an inch or two of snow while areas north of the Mass Pike might not get anything.

Wednesday night into Thursday is the next solid chance of snow with precipitation arriving as snow after midnight, according to the NWS, before changing to sleet, freezing rain and rain on Thursday as temperatures reach into the upper 30s.

After a seasonably cold day on Friday, the next shot of a substantial storm is on the way Saturday night into Sunday — with the NWS saying that snow could be heavy at times with a gusty northeast wind, making the storm have the potential of more of a classic nor'easter than recent winter weather events.
