Almost Normal August? See MA Long-Range Forecast

Long-range predictions for the Northeast are close to normal, but the rainy summer might still continue.

MASSACHUSETTS — We might be in for a cool, rainy August.

New long-range forecasts released by the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center show Massachusetts has up to a 40 percent chance of a more-rainy-than-usual start to the month, and up to a 50 percent chance of below-normal temperatures. That's for the first 6 to 10 days of the month.

The longer-range outlook for the entire month of August shows an up to 60 percent chance of higher than usual temperatures, but also above-normal precipitation.

The first week of August will support the 6 to 10 day outlook, with much of the state in for temperatures in the mid-70s, low humidity and sunny skies. Rain returns to the forecast on Thursday night and into Friday.
