'Unseasonably Cool' Weather In MA After Burst Of Warmth

Winter-like temperatures will return soon to Massachusetts after a week when temperatures hovered near 60.

MASSACHUSETTS — Put the gardening tools away and crank up the thermostat: Massachusetts is in for a major temperature swing after this weekend.

The National Weather Service office in Norton on Thursday cautioned residents not to get too used to the recent sunny, 60-degree weather. "Unseasonably cool" temperatures will start to invade around St. Patrick's Day.

Daytime highs over the first half of next week will struggle to reach the low 40s in most places across the state. Temperatures will go below freezing during nighttime hours, according to the weather service.
