Deadly Texas Nightclub Shooting Suspect Arrested In Massachusetts
Police say the man wanted in connection with a deadly nightclub shooting earlier this month is in custody.
NEW BEDFORD, MA — A man wanted on a murder charge in a Texas nightclub killing earlier this week was arrested Thursday morning in New Bedford, police said.
Denis Alexis Ocampo-Maldonado, 23, was arrested in an apartment on Felton Street in New Bedford after being tracked down by police and U.S. Marshals and Massachusetts Parole Department officers, according to Massachusetts State Police.
On Sept. 12, police responded to a shooting outside of El Nocturno Night Club in Austin.

When officers got to the parking lot, they say they found Jocson Antonio Zelaya Blanco, 23, suffering from several gunshot wounds.
Life-saving measures were reportedly tried, but State Police say Blanco was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say Maldonado had ties to New Bedford and said he was getting ready to flee the country when he was placed under arrest.
Maldonado is expected to be returned to Texas, where he will face a first-degree murder charge.
