Downpours, Thunder Rumbles Across MA Amid Week Of Roller-Coaster Temperatures
Winds will ramp up on Monday as drenching rain and possible thunder crosses New England overnight.

MASSACHUSETTS — A rapidly warming Monday will be followed by high winds, drenching rain and the possibility of the first rumbles of thunder of the season overnight ahead of a week of roller-coaster temperatures across Massachusetts.
After a chilly and dreary weekend, with some icy spots in the interior, temperatures will rise quickly following a cool and foggy start on Monday, with a high temperature of 66 degrees in Greater Boston, according to the National Weather Service.
Wind gusts will ramp up to 30 miles per hour out of the west on Monday, with mostly cloudy skies.

Heavy rain will begin Monday night, with up to an inch of water overnight and the possibility of flooding in poor drainage areas. The NWS said thunderstorms are possible before 3 a.m. Winds will whip around from the south at gusts up to 30 mph.
Skies will clear on Tuesday and set the stage for a pair of sunny and seasonable days, with a high of 52 degrees on Tuesday and 45 on Wednesday.

The next chance for storms comes on Thursday, with showers early in the day and temperatures soaring back into the mid-60s.
Opening Day at Fenway Park on Friday is shaping up as a beauty with partly cloudy skies and highs near 66 degrees for first pitch at 2:05 p.m.
