Epoch Senior Living Continues Educational Series for Families in Partnership with McLean Hospital

Second session featuring guest experts on dementia to be held on October 28

Waltham, MA – October 7, 2025 – EPOCH Senior Living has announced the continuation of its educational seminar series for residents’ families and prospective families, developed in partnership with experts from McLean Hospital. The series provides essential education and support for those caring for loved ones with dementia.

The first session in the series, held on July 31, featured Dr. Alexis Freedberg, Psychiatrist in Charge of Geriatric Psychiatry Inpatient Services at McLean Hospital, along with Dr. Murphy Harrell-Monty, Staff Psychologist in McLean’s Neuropsychology Department. The program, “Managing the Most Challenging Symptoms of Dementia,” explored strategies to address prevalent symptoms of dementia, offering caregivers evidence-based approaches to support resilience.

The upcoming second session , titled "Coping as a Caregiver of Someone with Dementia," will be held on Tuesday, October 28, at 7 PM via Zoom.

Guest experts Marie Clouqueur, LICSW, Director of the GUIDE Program and Caregiver Services, and Elizabeth Goldstein, LICSW, Lead Social Worker for the Cognitive Neuropsychiatry Unit, will share practical strategies and insights for spouses and adult children caring for loved ones with dementia.

  • The seminar will help participants: Identify the most common and challenging symptoms as dementia progresses.
  • Address typical challenges for both spouses and adult children.
  • Manage feelings of loss, exhaustion, and family tension.
  • Restore connection, confidence, and competence through strategic approaches.
