Family Says ICE Agents Held 5-Year-Old Girl To Pressure MA Dad's Surrender: NBC

"They took my daughter, she's 5 years old. She has autism spectrum," a woman says in the NBC video. "Give me my daughter back."

LEOMINSTER, MA — Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents detained a 5-year-old girl in an attempt to pressure her father to surrender to them, a Leominster family from Guatemala told NBC Connecticut.

The father of the girl called her mother Sept. 16 to tell her he believed they were being chased, according to the NBC story.

"The mother also explained that her daughter's father 'managed to run back into the parking lot of my house, but they grabbed the girl,'" the story said.

"They took my daughter, she's 5 years old. She has autism spectrum," the woman says in video obtained by Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra. "Give me my daughter back."

The "family's anguished screams can be heard" on the Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra video, NBC reported.

Leominster police officers recovered the child and returned her to the family, NBC said, but ICE agents returned two days later, pulled the man out of the car and arrested him.

It was his birthday, according to NBC.
