BOSTON — Massachusetts is looking to smash one more temperature record before moving into spring.
Friday's forecast calls for temperatures as warm as the low 70s, afternoon highs that would tie or set records from Boston to Worcester.
The high temperatures are expected to hit 72 degrees in Boston and 73 in Worcester, both of which would tie March 18 marks set in 2012.

The Cape will stay a bit cooler, with temperatures stuck in the 50s, and some of the coast will stay in the 60s.

To get to the record temps we'll need to slog through a rainy Thursday. It'll be gray all day, with rain making its way up from the south. The National Weather Service said rain is expected to be on the light side. A dense fog advisory is in effect for much of Massachusetts.

The rain returns Saturday with a much wetter day and temperatures in the low 50s.
Sunday will be a return to form with high temperatures in the low 60s and mostly sun. Monday — the first day of spring — will be a bit cooler but remain dry.
