Girl, 16, Dies After Being Hit By School Bus In Springfield
The teenager was struck by a bus at around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday. She died at Baystate Medical Center later that day, police said.

SPRINGFIELD, MA — A 16-year-old girl died Wednesday afternoon after she was struck by a school bus in a downtown Springfield intersection, police said.
She was hit at the intersection of State and Dwight Streets, near the MassMutual Center, MassLive reported. Officers were called to the crash at around 2:45 p.m. and the girl died at Baystate Medical Center at around 4 p.m., according to WWLP.
The girl's name has not yet been released and no further information is currently available.

Her death is the 8th traffic fatality in Springfield involving a pedestrian this year, and the city's 21st traffic fatality overall — a five-year high, MassLive said.
