'A Washout': Storms In MA Will Mar Another Weekend, Forecasters Say
The track of Tropical Storm Philippe has moved east, but another rain system from the Great Lakes will fill in for it.

MASSACHUSETTS — Hopefully you got some leisure in during the work week because the long holiday weekend will be a partial "washout," according to forecasters.
Saturday will be an all-rain day for most of the state, replicating the last few weekends of wet weather.
"Another soaker in store for Saturday — stop us if you've heard that one before! Light rains begin later tonight, but much of the rain falls on Saturday," the National Weather Service office in Norton tweeted Friday. "We are not expecting flooding, but Saturday is looking like a washout, again!"

Luckily, the track of Tropical Storm Philippe has changed yet again, shifting east away from the state, according to the National Hurricane Center. Most of the rain coming to the state Saturday is from a system that developed over the Great Lakes, according to forecasters.
"It still is a complex interaction between these two larger-scale features, although there is growing consensus that only eastern portions of MA sees rain in association with the far western periphery of Philippe`s circulation," the National Weather Service said in a Friday forecast.

Higher rain amounts will be confined to the Berkshires and outer Cape Cod, according to the forecast. But parts of the state between Worcester and Boston may still catch up to an inch of rain.
But it won't be rainy the whole Indigenous Peoples/Columbus Day weekend. Sunday and Monday will be at least partly sunny, but with gusty winds and October-like temperatures only reaching the low 60s or high 50s, according to forecasts.
