MASSACHUSETTS — Damaging wind gusts, frigid feels-like temperatures and treacherous icy conditions will continue across Massachusetts Tuesday as the punishing stretch of winter weather continues for another few days before signs of easing toward this weekend.

A High Wind Warning was in effect for parts of Worcester County and northwest Middlesex County for Tuesday morning and afternoon — with a High Wind Advisory in effect for much of the rest of the state — with sustained winds 15-30 mph, gusts to 50 mph across the state, and up to 60 mph in the higher terrain of Worcester and Fitchburg areas.

The National Weather Service alerts were set to remain in place until 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Wednesday will be another cold day — with less wind — as highs are in the upper 20s and a west wind of 9-13 mph making it feel like the single digits.

A coastal storm appears to be a miss to the south on Thursday, according to the NWS, with only a "slight" chance of snow in Boston. The best chance for accumulating snow will be on Cape Cod and the Islands with up to 3 inches of snow possible. Little to no snow is expected north of Greater Boston.

What will follow —to the relief of many New Englanders after a numbing succession of cold, icy and snow over the past two months — should be a gradual warming trend with more seasonable days and melting.

Friday will be a windy and slightly warmer day with highs in the low 30s. Highs should hit the upper 30s to 40 degrees this upcoming weekend — with no winter weather storms in the forecast for the first time on a weekend in 2025 — before temperatures inch above normal into the low- to mid-40s next week as the chance of precipitation returns.
