How Much Snow Massachusetts Got In The Storm

BOSTON — A daylong, on-and-off snowstorm is wrapping up after dumping more than 10 inches of snow in communities mostly north and northwest of Boston.

Logan Airport was measuring at 8.5 inches as of 7 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

The highest unofficial total available as of Friday night was 10.7 inches in Woburn at a 5:30 p.m. measuring. You can see more unofficial snowfall results for various communities below, courtesy the National Weather Service.

Channel 7 had Winchester coming in as the big winner (or loser) of the day at 10.5 inches, with Lexington, Bedford, Burlington, West Peabody and Wilmington all measuring at least 10 inches.

Snow found it more difficult to build up south of the city, where higher temperatures meant more of a wintry mix for most of the day. The changeover to rain and sleet all across the state means wetter, heavier snow to shovel out from — not to mention an expected freeze from low overnight temperatures.

All in all the storm was largely uneventful, falling in line with most forecasts and sparing the state of much storm-related damage.
