MA Man Convicted In 2013 Killing Of Fitchburg Man Shaun Hibbard
Investigators determined Hibbard was shot during a confrontation near his vehicle.
FITCHBURG, MA — A Fitchburg man was found guilty of second-degree murder in the 2013 killing of another man, according to the Worcester County District Attorney.
John Yang, 44, was convicted of fatally shooting Shaun Hibbard, 33, on August 13, 2013. Officers found Hibbbard shortly after 4 a.m. near Forest Street after recieving reports of multiple gunshots in the area, according to the DA.
Investigators determined Hibbard was shot during a confrontation near his vehicle. He ran up Forest Street after the shooting, knocking on doors to look for health.

Yang was initially charged and arraigned in September 2023.
“We hope this verdict brings the victim’s family and loved ones some justice and closure," said DA Joseph D. Early. "This case exemplifies the continued efforts by law enforcement to bring all of our cases to a resolution, regardless of the passage of time."
