MA Restaurants Lean Into Romance This Valentine's Day: Cheap Eats
From romantic bar seating to a 12-layer red velvet cake and special jukusei omakase tasting, here's what MA spots are cooking up this year.

MASSACHUSETTS — Valentine's Day is special for many reasons, but among the many great things about the holiday is an excuse to have a night out with the person you love.
For the holiday, many spots across Massachusetts will have special menus, desserts and drinks to indulge in.

Special Menu at The Ritz-Carlton, Boston

The Ritz-Carlton in Boston will run a special menu at Artisan Bistro on Valentine's Day, including a choice of one of three appetizers, entrees and desserts.
Artisan's Valentine’s Day menu will be served from 4 to 10 p.m. on Valentine's Day Friday for $89 per person. Reservations can be made here via Open Table.
Boston Harbor Hotel Valentine's Day Dinner Package
Boston Harbor Hotel is offering a special stay and meal package for the holiday. Overnight accommodations for two, a bottle of Roederer Champagne, and a sweet amenity delivered to the room on Feb. 13 or 14 is including in the reservation.
Guests will also get a three-course prix fixe dinner for two at Rowes Wharf Sea Grille, with wine and alcoholic beverages available for an additional charge.
A $90 breakfast credit for two through in-room dining and overnight valet parking for one vehicle are also included, with a 4 p.m. late check-out available to those booking the package. For more information and to make a reservation, click here.

Heart-Shaped Pizzas at Ducali
Ducali, the authentic, Roman-style pizzeria styled after the great neighborhood pizzerias of Italy, is getting into the Valentine’s Day spirit by offering Heart-Shaped Pizzas for pick-up and take-out throughout the week of Valentine’s Day, from Feb. 10 to 16.
Each pizza serves two and any pizza on the Ducali menu can be transformed into a heart for a romantic pizza night.
Twelve Layers of Red Velvet at Sonsie
Sonsie, on Boston's Newbury Street, will offer an $85 prix fixe menu featuring items like tuna ceviche, risotto alle vongole and beef tenderloin. However, the true highlight may be a 12-layer red velvet cake.

Intimate Dining Experience at OAK
OAK in Boston's Back Bay will offer several a la carte specials to complement the dinner menu on Feb. 14 and 15.
OAK’s historic dining room with its dramatic vaulted ceilings, glittering crystal chandeliers, grand Palladian windows and cozy roaring fireplaces provide a picturesque setting for a romantic evening.
Returning for this year is OAK's "Loveseat Bar Experience", which allows guests to reserve one of the bar’s two highly sought-after Loveseat Bar Benches. The leather seats for two are nestled at either end of OAK’s 83-foot copper-topped bar and the love-themed experience is available for only two days.
It includes:
- A 2-hour reservation at a Loveseat Bar Bench
- A two glasses of Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut Champagne
- OAK’s Valentine’s weekend shareable dessert special: Raspberry Sorbet, almond tart tres leches
The experience costs $130 total, with seating times at 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Galentine's Weekend Brunch
Strega by Nick Varano will host a Galentine’s Weekend Brunch on Feb. 15 and 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Guests can expect special Valentine’s themed cocktails such as "Candy Mimosas", the "Chocolate Covered Strawberry" or "Cupid Dreams."

XOXO Sushi Bar
Chef Kegan Stritchko will present an 11-course jukusei omakase tasting menu leveraging XOXO's "advanced in-house dry-ager and jukusei technique – “aging” in Japanese, where fish used in sushi is salted or soaked in vinegar then matured for several days – that features local and rare sea treasures designed with indulgent and intriguing flavor profiles."
Running from Feb. 14-16 at the Chestnut Hill restaurant, the $175 experience will feature 11 luxurious courses. Reservations can be found here.
