MA State Trooper Injured After Crash With Intoxicated Driver In Utah
The trooper was a passenger in a rideshare vehicle when the crash happened Friday in Salt Lake City.

MASSACHUSETTS — A state trooper based in Belchertown was seriously injured Friday after a collision in Utah, according to the State Police Association.
Matthew McRae was in a rideshare vehicle around 1 a.m. Friday in Salt Lake City when the crash happened. Local state police officials said the driver of the other vehicle was arrested for operating under the influence.
McRae was being treated in the ICU at University of Utah Hospital, but is "slowly improving," the troopers association said. The association did not say why McRae was in Salt Lake City.

"He has already defied the odds and continues to fight this very minute here in this hospital for his life.
