FITCHBURG, MA — A Fitchburg man was arrested Friday morning in connection to a hit-and-run two days ago that left a police officer injured, Massachusetts State Police say.
Bryan Walker, 39, of Fitchburg, is now facing attempted murder charges, assault and battery on a police officer causing serious injury, cocaine trafficking, leaving the scene of a crash that caused injury and reckless operation of a motor vehicle, state troopers said.
Police arrested Walker Friday morning after investigators learned he was hiding out in an apartment on Wilson Ave. in Fitchburg, troopers said.

On Wednesday morning, police say they were attempting to execute a search warrant at 182 Mechanic St., with Walker as the target of the investigation. Police say when Walker saw law enforcement agents nearby, he took off.
Police say Walker made his way to a car and struck a Boylston police officer who was chasing him on foot. The officer, who was a member of a drug task force, suffered serious injuries and was taken to UMass Medical Center, police say.

Walker continued to flee after hitting the officer and making his way to the woods. A search involving Air Wing and K9 teams did not find him, but a follow-up investigation with Massachusetts State Police's Violent Fugitives Apprehension Section was able to help lead officers to his arrest, troopers reported.
The unidentified Boylston police officer continues to undergo treatment and further tests.
