Massachusetts Boy Drowns While On Vacation In Puerto Rico
While on vacation with a friend's family, a 12-year-old boy was swept out to sea and found two days later, officials say.

MASSACHUSETTS — The body of a 12-year-old boy from Massachusetts has been recovered after a two-day search off the coast of a popular beach in Puerto Rico, officials say.
WCVB first reported the boy's death while he was on vacation with a 11-year-old friend and his family.
The boy's name has not yet been released, but a dive unit from San Juan police found his body near the shoreline of Condado Beach, Ricardo Castrodad - a public affairs specialist with the San Juan sector of the Coast Guard told WHDH.

Shortly after they arrived at their hotel Sunday night, the boy and his friend ran toward the water and were swept out to sea after 9 p.m., WCVB reported.
The 11-year-old boy was saved, but the 12-year-old got pulled out by the current and drowned, Henry Neumann Zayas, a Puerto Rican senator confirmed.

Two days after an extensive search began, a police diver located the 12-year-old's body in the water Castrodad said.
Condado Beach is a popular tourist destination that is known to be dangerous for rip tides and high surf, Castrodad added.
No additional information was immediately released.
