MASSACHUSETTS — The July 4 weekend should be ideal for fireworks, hitting the beach and sitting near the pool across Massachusetts with mostly clear skies and midsummer heat building over the region.

The only hiccup in festivity viewing could come in the cities and towns that hold their events on Thursday, as a chance of thunderstorms will punctuate a hot and humid day with a high temperature of 91 degrees. The National Weather Service said the best chance of rain is before 7 p.m. — meaning it should dry out for most evening fireworks displays.
