BOSTON, MA — Be prepared to drop about $450 if you order off the top of the menu at Oya in Boston, the most expensive restaurant in Massachusetts, according to a new ranking.
Love Food, whose content includes recipes, food news, and opinion pieces, said the list of upscale restaurants in every state includes everything from “old-school, mahogany-filled steakhouses to seafood spots right by the ocean.”
The picks are based on the priciest main course or tasting menu. Spots with just one very expensive dish were excluded.

The restaurant practices the Japanese art of omakase, where the chef chooses the food for the customers. The eatery has numerous Google reviews, with an average score of 4.8 out of 5.
“Every item’s flavors are meticulously complemented and balanced across the dish. One of my favorite Japanese restaurants in the USA,” Joe Meuth said in his review. “Absolutely love it and visit every time I am in Boston.”
Another reviewer, Layla W., said that Oya offered the best omakase experience she has ever had.
“We came here for my birthday. This vibe is cool, service amazing and the food very interesting. The sushi was different and very fresh. The food was tasty, beautifully presented and exceptional,” she said in her review.
