"Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat stroke if precautions are not taken.," the NWS said.
The storms will continue into Friday night with most of them wrapping up before 9 p.m.
That will set the stage for a cooler and much more pleasant Saturday with a high of 81 degrees under mostly sunny skies with lower humidity.
Sunday will be less bright with a chance of showers late in the day and a high temperature of 82 degrees.
The high heat will then return early next week with a high temperature of 89 degrees on Monday and a high of 93 degrees on Tuesday.
