Acton Fire Dept. Puts Out Weekend Garage Fire
Two adults and one child were displaced for the night.

ACTON, MA — Acton fire crews put out a garage fire on Alcott Street late on Sunday morning. The garage was attached to the home and fire officials said heavy smoke was billowing from it when crews arrived.
Everyone inside the home was able to get out safely before firefighters got to the scene. No injuries were reported. Two adults and a child were displaced for the night.
The fire was contained to the garage — fire crews put out the fire before it spread to the home. The garage sustained significant fire and water damage, and the home sustained substantial smoke damage.

The Building Commissioner and wiring inspector responded to the scene as well.
Acton fire officials believe the fire may have started in a waste receptacle in the garage. Crews from the Concord and Boxborough Fire Departments provided station coverage.
