There was never any doubt for the Acton-Boxborough girls basketball team. In the opening round of the Central Division 1 postseason on Tuesday night, the Colonials cruised to a 63-33 victory over visiting Doherty. Thanks to the victory, Acton-Boxborough advances to the quarterfinal round against No. 2 seed Westford Academy. The Grey Ghosts enter the game coming off of a first round bye while the Colonials' opening round win improves their record to 15-6 on the season. Doherty ends the season with an 8-13 mark. Friday's quarterfinal game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Westford Academy.

Westford Academy is next for Acton-Boxborough in the Central Division 1 playoffs.
