Here's who it is (wickedlocal.com) — Acton families have a new school resource officer: Detective Monica Ricci will now serve Acton’s elementary and collaborative schools, focusing on safety, guidance, and relationship-building with students and staff. With extensive training in crisis intervention and de-escalation, she’ll counsel administrators, give safety presentations, and support a secure, welcoming school environment.
   

• Circle Furniture has closed all its stores in MA. What to know (wickedlocal.com) — An Acton-headquartered staple, Circle Furniture, has abruptly closed all its Massachusetts stores and laid off about 65 employees effective Dec. 23. After nearly 70 years in business, the company says it can no longer afford to operate, leaving its Acton base and statewide locations in limbo while its website lists stores as closed until further notice.
   

• Friends of the Library Have Successful Holiday Sale (thebedfordcitizen.org) — Bedford Free Public Library’s Friends group just reported a strong holiday book sale that helps fund perks like discounted museum passes, including for the Discovery Museum in Acton. Acton families can use these passes during school vacation to visit kid-friendly museums and attractions around the region, with easy online reservations through the Bedford library’s website.
