1. Acton Community Chorus - Open Rehearsal: At 7:30 p.m. this Monday, Sept. 9, at the Faith Evangelical Free Church, you can check out the Acton Community Chorus for the start of the group's 30th season at the first of two open rehearsals. Get the details here.
2. Public Meetings Preview: According to the town website, public meetings posted for this week include:
- Monday, Sept. 9: the Board of Selectmen and Sewer Commissioners' Meeting at 6 p.m., the Council on Aging at 3 p.m., the Green Advisory Board at 6:30 p.m. and the Volunteer Coordinating Committee at 7 p.m.
- Tuesday, Sept. 10: the Finance Committee at 7:30 p.m. and the Historic District Commission at 6 p.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 12: the Acton Leadership Group at 7:30 a.m. and the Community Preservation Committee Public Hearing at 7:30 p.m.
- Friday, Sept. 13: the Acton-Boxborough Regional School District Acton-Boxborough Transitional School Committee at 8:15 a.m.
4. Prostate Cancer Awareness Day: It's this Thursday, Sept. 12. Get the details here.
5. Girl Scout Signups: Acton's local Girl Scout troops are holding signups. You can do it online at hergirlscouts.org or in person this Saturday, Sept. 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Acton Memorial Library. Get the details here.
