An armed bank robbery and the closing of two restaurants in other towns among the most read articles.

When news of an armed bank robbery happened in Acton on April 17, readers flocked to Acton Patch to get the latest, which made the story No. 1 in April.

According to police, the robbery occurred at 2:30 p.m. at the Middlesex Savings Bank branch at 577 Massachusetts Ave.

"The lone suspect entered the bank armed with a firearm and demanded money from the tellers," the press release read. "The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen running towards Arlington Street. No one was harmed during the robbery."

A Lowell man was caught later in the month and is expected to face charges.
