40B Project Denied on Shattuck Road

The Zoning Board of Appeals denied a 40B housing project with nearly 250 units on Shattuck Road.

The Andover Zoning Board of Appeals voted unanimously Tuesday to deny a 40B housing development that was being proposed for a vacant lot on Shattuck Road, according to an article in the Eagle Tribune.

Board members said that the project, proposed by Quincy-based Hanover R.S. Limited Partnership, would steer away from the town's efforts to create a strong industrial area on Shattuck Road. Others felt that the area was not right for a residential development for a variety of reasons.

A representative from Hanover R.S. Limited Partnership said they are likely to appeal the decision. If the appeal is granted, then the company will be able to go through with the project without abiding by the town's conditions.
