5 Things to Know, Jan. 15: Penguin Expert to Talk at Library

1. Penguin Talk: "Penguin expert and author Dyan deNapoli will be giving a presentation about the rescue of 40,000 penguins from the Treasure oil spill in South Africa" tonight at 7 p.m. at Memorial Hall Library. Register for the event online. 

2. Bancroft School Council: The Bancroft School Council meets at 7:45 a.m. at the Bancroft Elementary School media center. They'll be discussing the School Improvement Plan.

3. Flu Shots Available by Appointment: In light of the widespread flu outbreak in Boston, Andover Health officials have made it known that flu vaccines are available by appointment.

4. Gas Prices: Here are some of the lowest unleaded gas prices according to motortrend.com: the 65 Main Street – $3.43/gallon; Sunoco, 220 North Main St., $3.47/gallon; Mobil 14 N. Main St., $3.53/gallon.

5. Weather: Today will be sunny with a high of 41 degrees and tonight will bring a 40 percent chance of snow with a low of 26 degrees. However, one to three inches of snow accumulation is expected on Wednesday before 4 p.m.
