911 Call Turns Out to Be Hoax for Surprise Party
The police logs for Saturday, March 19, and Sunday, March 20, contained several incidents and two arrests.

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public.
Saturday, March 19
- At 4:38 a.m. a suspicious vehicle was reported on Juliette Street. A caller reported that occupants of a van driving in the area may have been throwing glass bottles from the window. An officer could not locate the vehicle.
- At 10:25 a.m. a minor motor vehicle accident was reported on Main Street.
- At 10:38 a.m. fraud activity on a bank account was reported on North Main Street.
- At 2:36 p.m. a caller reported a larceny from a motor vehicle on Mitton Circle. The victim said that a “few” items were taken.
- At 3:25 p.m. police arrested Anitza D. Alayon, 28, 70 Union St., Methuen, on River Road. Alayon was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
- At 9:11 p.m. police received a call about a possible breaking and entering in progress at the caller’s home. The caller ended up chasing the four individuals in question on Chestnut Street. Police finally discovered that the four people were kids playing “ding dong ditch,” where they ring the doorbell and run away.
Sunday, March 20

- At 9:09 a.m. a caller reported a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 93 involving a car into a guardrail. State Police were already on route.
- At 1:44 p.m. police spoke with several people outside of a wooded opening at the end of Burtt Road about trespassing. The individuals were in multiple pickup trucks with dirt bikes in them. The parties were sent on their way.
- At 3:42 p.m. a caller reported a beaver that was trapped in a window well on Balmoral Street. The animal control officer reported that the animal was shortly removed from the window well.
- At 6:05 p.m. a caller reported that a coyote jumped the fence and killed one of her goats on High Plain Road. Police eventually found out that the call was a hoax used to get someone home for a surprise party.
- At 8:09 p.m. police responded to a domestic incident on Nicoll Drive between a father and a son. Police eventually charged Torin M. Traynor, 25, of 12 Nicoll Drive, with assault and battery on a household member, assault and battery on a police officer, assault to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, destruction of property over $250, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
