Aftermath in Andover from Blizzard 2013

Once the governor lifted the driving ban at 4 p.m. the streets in Andover once again became frequented by non-plow motor vehicles. While the traffic wasn't significant, there was a steady flow of vehicles throughout Route 28 and the many arteries around it.

The Andover Public Works staff will continue street cleaning into tomorrow and possibly Monday. Police say that the plows were able to get out and attack the storm much more effectively without traffic on the roadways.

However, police still had to stop a few motorists to tell them to get home, but writing no tickets.

When all was said and done, Andover had roughly two feet of snow from this weekend's historic blizzard, with National Grid spotters in Methuen and Topsfield reporting 24.5 and 24 inches, respectively.

While the roads were clear in Andover, driving was still dicey in the hours after the snow stopped falling.

Empty mailbox stands poke out of the large snow drifts on side streets, as plows had inadvertently knocked off mailboxes across town while throwing the snow to the side .

Andover Police reported that, while the roads were being cleared, they had no major incidents as a result of the blizzard and had no calls regarding power outages.

National Grid reported under 5 customers in Andover without power at one point on Saturday but was able restore power by the end of the night.
