AGC Presents Tovah Martin’s “Indestructible Houseplants”

Popular gardener, writer, and photographer featured at Andover Garden Club's January meeting.

The Andover Garden Club’s January 9 membership meeting will feature Tovah Martin, well-known horticulturist, author, and presenter. Her presentation, “Indestructible Houseplants,” is based on her book The Indestructible Houseplant.

An avid indoor and outdoor gardener, Martin has authored numerous articles and many books, including The Garden in Every Sense and Season (which received GardenComm’s Gold Medal Media Award in 2019), The Unexpected Houseplant, The New Terrarium, The Essence of Paradise: Fragrant Plants for Indoor Gardens, Once Upon a Windowsill: A History of Indoor Plants, A Time to Blossom, Garden Whimsy, and Tasha Tudor’s Garden.

She is an accredited Organic Land Care Professional through Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA) and an honorary member of the Garden Club of America. She speaks throughout the country and has often appeared on television. She serves as a houseplant coach, helping clients make their homes greener places. For 25 years, she photographed the plants for the catalog of the legendary Logee’s Greenhouse.

When, Where, and How

The event will be held at South Church (41 Central Street, Andover) on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. It will begin at 10:00 AM with social time and refreshments, followed by a brief business meeting. The virtual presentation will start at approximately 11:00 AM.

The public is encouraged to take advantage of this program. A $10 donation is requested of nonmembers.

About the Andover Garden Club

Founded in 1927, the Andover Garden Club is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that encourages the study and practice of horticulture, landscape design, and floral design; aids in the beautification of the town of Andover; and helps protect and conserve natural resources. A member of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts, Inc., and National Garden Clubs, Inc., the club provides both financial and hands-on support to a variety of municipal, educational, and environmental organizations throughout the region.
