Andover Blizzard: Up To Two Feet Snow Possible

Andover could get 2 feet of snow Saturday, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast.

ANDOVER, MA — Andover will have an public street parking ban in place beginning 11 p.m. Friday and lasting until the end of the expected winter storm.

The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning for the region that will be in effect all day Saturday. The service forecasts 14 to 25 inches of snow in Andover beginning late Friday.

In the area covered by the blizzard warning, winds could gust at 50 to 60 miles per hour and visibility may drop below one-quarter of a mile, the Weather Service said.

Local restrictions

This story will be updated throughout the day Friday and Saturday with the latest measures.

Parking ban

The parking ban begins at 11 p.m. and lasts indefinitely. Cars parked on public streets can be ticketed and towed beginning at 11 p.m. Friday.

Town and school activities

All Town and School activities are canceled Saturday, including recreation and youth services programs.

Memorial Hall Library

The library is closed Saturday

Transit

There will be no Merrimack Valley Regional Transit Authority service Saturday, the agency said.

Merrimack Valley YMCA

All branches including the Andover/North Andover YMCA will be closed Saturday.
