The Andover Garden Club is proud to announce that long-time member and past president Ann C. Lange has been named “Flower Arranger of the Year” by National Garden Clubs, Inc.

Lange earned the distinction by creating a flower arrangement in the “Creative Design” style, using hand-painted palm spathes, dipper gourds (Lagenaria siceraria), and braided palm leaves. Photographer Patricia M. Watson then captured an image of the design, entitled “Birds Take Wing.”

Lange submitted the photograph for judging by the committee that picks entries for the annual Vision of Beauty calendar, now in its 73rd edition. She won the coveted Helen S. Hull Calendar award, earning her the title “Flower Arranger of the Year.”

Lange has earned the award twice before, making her one of the only designers (and likely the only designer) to have achieved this recognition three times.
