Andover High Grad Killed On Duty Honored By MA State Police
Tamar Bucci died in March at age 34 when her MSP cruiser was hit by a tanker truck. A memorial was unveiled at State Police-Brookfield.

BROOKFIELD, MA — Andover High grad Tamar Bucci, who was killed last spring in a traffic accident while on duty for the Massachusetts State Police, was honored Monday with a plaque at State Police-Brookfield.
Massachusetts State Police Colonel Christopher Mason was joined by Bucci's parents, other family members and loved ones for the ceremony, which took place where Bucci began her police career. She was assigned to SP-Medford at the time of her death.
On March 3, Bucci was killed when her police cruiser, parked by the side of the road, was struck by a tanker truck on Interstate 93 in Stoneham. Bucci, 34, had pulled over to assist another motorist.

Bucci was a longtime resident of Reading who had graduated from the Reading Police Department's Citizen's Academy. At the time of Bucci's death, the Reading Police Department released a statement on social media honoring the fallen officer.
"We are deeply saddened by Trooper Tamar Bucci's tragic death this morning from an accident on 93 in Stoneham," The Reading PD wrote. "We at the RPD were lucky to have met this wonderful young lady who took our Citizens Police Academy in 2017. She told us she wanted to be a police officer and she stuck with her dreams and became a Massachusetts State Trooper."

Before joining the Massachusetts State Police in May 2020, Bucci was a personal trainer and worked security at Encore Boston Harbor in Everett. After Andover High, Bucci graduated from Middlesex Community College.
In a social media message on Monday, the MSP wrote about Bucci: "Always in our hearts."
