Andover Home 'A Total Loss' After Sunday 3-Alarm Fire
Firefighters battled the Somerset Drive blaze for over an hour. Nobody was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

ANDOVER, MA — A 9,500-square-foot Andover home has been deemed "a total loss" after a three-alarm fire swept through the house Sunday afternoon, Andover Fire Rescue said.
Nobody was home during the blaze, according to the fire department, though the home's three occupants have been displaced. AFR did not report any injuries to firefighters battling the blaze on Somerset Drive.
According to AFR, the fire was reported at approximately 12:13 p.m. Sunday.

At the scene, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the home, according to department officials.
Firefighters struck a second alarm for additional assistance at 12:17 p.m., officials said. A third alarm was sounded at 12:40 p.m. after the fire continued to spread to the attic and the roof became heavily engulfed in flames, according to AFR.

AFR said mutual aid was provided at the scene by fire departments from Lawrence, Tewksbury North Andover and Wilmington.
The fire was knocked down and extinguished at 1:34 p.m., according to AFR.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by AFR and the State Fire Marshal's Office.
