Andover Interested in Phillips' Boathouse Land
The Andover Conservation Department has been interested in this parcel of land for years. And now it's for sale.
Phillips Academy Andover recently contacted the town manager to see if the community would be interested in buying a parcel of land on the Merrimack River that now houses the academy's boathouse, according to an article on the Eagle Tribune website.
Selectmen discussed the deal last week and some commented how the deal would be great for the town. Conservation Director Robert Douglas said it would open up opportunities for public recreation and possibly boating.
The land is located behind the Greater Lawrence Technical School and has other interested buyers such as the nearby Marriott and Andover Companies.
