Andover Native Lucy Adams Thrives For Brown Field Hockey As Freshman
The Brooks School grad was named First Team All-Northeast and First Team All-Ivy after finishing 2nd on the Bears in goals and points.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Andover native Lucy Adams had little trouble adjusting to collegiate field hockey this fall, turning in a fine freshman campaign at Brown.
Adams, a midfielder who attended Brooks School in North Andover, started all 17 games for the Bears and ranked second on the team in goals, with five, and points, 15. Her five assists were the third most for the Bears (8-9 overall, 1-6 in the Ivy League).
At one point in the season, Adams had a point in seven straight games. She also scored goals in three straight games: Sept. 23 vs. Yale, Sept. 25 vs. Sacred Hard, and Oct. 1 vs. Dartmouth.

For her performance, Adams was named First Team All-Ivy on Nov. 8. She was joined on the All-Ivy team by teammate Lexi Pellegrino, also a freshman. The pair were Brown's first freshmen to earn First Team All-Ivy honors.
The news got even better for Adams later in the month. On Nov. 22, she was named First Team All-Northeast, one of just 16 athletes to receive the honor.

"Lucy is an extremely talented hockey player whose ability to eliminate defenders allows our team to play numbers up in our attack," Brown head coach Britt Broady said.
Broady continued: "(Adams) is one of the best midfielders in our region and will grow to become one of the best in the country. Lucy is also a wonderful teammate whose humility and enjoyment of field hockey will lead this program in future years. Brown field hockey is developing at a sharp trajectory and Lucy is a huge part of that growth."
