Andover Resident Opens Consignment Shop in North Reading

Second Chance Consignment Store owner and Andover resident Nancy Boyer enjoys going into each day wondering what's going to come through the door. Focused on clothing and various knick-knacks, Second Chance Consignment opened at 325 Main St. in North Reading at the end of November.

"Each day is different...and I like that," said Boyer. "I like to give things a second chance.

Boyer owned a consignment shop earlier in life but closed it roughly ten years ago to focus on her family. But she recently decided it was time to return to her passion.

"I love the interaction with people; I like talking to people and getting to know people," said Boyer.

Second Chance Consignment currently has a majority of women's clothing and accessories but will accept all types of items.

Appointments do not need to be set for consignments. They hold the items for 9 weeks and provide a 50/50 split for all items.

These are the guidelines for Consignment:

• Clothing should be on hangers (we don't need to keep your hangers, just helps to keep them from getting wrinkled while bringing in).
• No rips, stains, or odors.
• Current clothing, bought in the last few years.
• Preferably in season.
• Shoes need to be almost new.
• Housewares in good shape.

Second Chance Consignment is located at 325 Main St., North Reading (next to the Wishing Well and Boston Flower Market) and is open Tuesday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, 9:30 a.. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
