Andover Residents To Air Concerns About Idling Trains

A meeting is scheduled for Monday to discuss concerns about idling trains.

ANDOVER — Residents living near the downtown train tracks are expected to blow off steam Monday night at a meeting about diesel train engines idling near homes and businesses, according to the Eagle-Tribune.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. on the second floor of the library at Memorial Hall Library, located at 2 No. Main St.

Since a new set of tracks was built next to the existing track used by MBTA, freight and Amtrak trains, neighbors have dealt with idling freight engines that often stay overnight or the weekend, the newspaper reports.
