Andover Schools Rated, Ranked By Education Platform Niche

ANDOVER, MA — Niche, an education platform, published its new 2023 Best Schools and Districts rankings on Tuesday.

Now in its ninth year, the rankings include updated data for 92,743 public schools, 30,112 private schools, and 11,820 school districts nationwide, according to Niche.

Among the local highlights: Andover's Phillips Academy was voted the Best Private School in the country for a third straight year.

Meanwhile, Andover Public Schools' highest-ranked elementary school in the state is High Plain (No. 57), its highest-ranked middle school in the state is Wood Hill (No. 37), and Andover High School is ranked No. 34 in the state.

Niche said its rankings differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that it also includes input from students, alumni and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities.

The education platform said its rankings were created to provide families with valuable information — both quantitative and qualitative — on schools in their area or in a neighborhood they're not familiar with yet.

Andover Public Schools received an overall grade of A and was ranked No. 29 of 219 on the list of 2023 Best School Districts In Massachusetts.

Elementary Schools: There are 987 schools ranked on the list of Best Public Elementary Schools In Massachusetts

• High Plain: A, No. 57
• Henry C. Sanborn: A, No. 62
• South: A, No. 99
• West: A, No. 128
• Bancroft: A-minus, No. 205

Middle Schools: There are 460 schools ranked on the list of Best Public Middle Schools In Massachusetts.

• Wood Hill: A, No. 37
• Andover West: A, No. 57
• Doherty: A-minus, No. 71

High School: There are 363 schools ranked on the list of Best Public High Schools in Massachusetts.

• Andover: A, No. 34
