Andover Schools Will Have Early Release Day Tuesday Due To Snow, Wind

The preschool, middle schools and high school will get out at 11:30 a.m., the elementary schools at 12:15 p.m.

ANDOVER, MA — Andover Public Schools superintendent Dr. Magda Parvey announced Monday that Tuesday will be an early release day in the district due to a forecast of snow and high winds.

Parvey said the release time for the preschool, middle schools and high school will be 11:30 a.m., while the release time for the elementary schools will be 12:15 p.m. There will be no afternoon preschool or afternoon activities.

"Based on the current forecast and the potential for a difficult afternoon commute, the potential for high winds and power outages on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, the district will have an early release day," Parvey wrote in a message online.

According to the National Weather Service, the Tuesday afternoon forecast is for snow, possibly mixed with rain. Breezy, with a north wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches is possible.
